The address 1-1-1
In Japan, the address scheme is based on grid or something like that, not based on street.

In my day job, I am an employee of National Institute of AIST, Tsukuba, Japan. The address of AIST is 1-1-1 Umezono, Tsukuba Japan.

I live in an apartment for government employee. The address is 1-1-1 Azuma, Tsukuba Japan (The building number and room number are secret ;-).

It means that the institute has been moved (from Tokyo) to country side, the apartments has been built up, and nothing were there at that time. This is just a my guess.

1-1-1 (One-One-One) is quite simple and easy to remember.

Last century, I worked for Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc., and the address was 2-3-6 Ootemachi. My boss at that time said it's logical (or mathematically correct), because two times three equals to six. He is such a person, no wonder he is now in the board member as an auditor.
